Residents of Nova Crvenka and their guests will celebrate the Day of the village on Wednesday, 15. September. Guests and hosts will gather in front of the monument in the village center on Wednesday at 11 hours and 30 minutes, so that at 12 hours they can lay a wreath at the monument to the Salonika volunteers and pay tribute to those who took part in the wars of liberation from 1912 to 1918. After the welcoming speeches, a commemorative cultural and artistic program will be performed on the stage in the village center from 12:45 hours, followed by lunch for all guests attending the Nova Crvenka Day celebration at the renovated Pensioners’ Club. The Nova Crvenka Day celebration will conclude with a special concert for young people, which will begin at 19 hours.
As a reminder, Serbia and Republika Srpska celebrate a joint holiday on the same day—the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag. The date, 15 September, was chosen because the Salonica Front was breached on that day in 1918.
On this occasion, the National and State Flags of the Republic of Serbia will be prominently displayed in public places and on public authority buildings in all municipalities in Serbia and Republika Srpska. This holiday, symbolising the unity of the Serbian people, will be jointly observed in Serbia and Republika Srpska, as well as in all communities around the world where Serbs live.
