Crvenka’s handball players made a disappointing farewell to their fans before the spring half of the Super League championship. In the 10th round of the Super B League championship, Crvenka’s handball players put in one of their poorest performances of the autumn in front of their home supporters and lost 28:20 to Proleter from Zrenjanin. The absence of Ivić, veteran Račić and goalkeeper Pavićević cannot excuse such a poor performance. Radisav Kovačević’s players made countless mistakes, and the visitors took advantage of those gifts to claim a deserved win. Dragiša Račić was Crvenka’s top scorer, with 7 goals. Crvenka are sixth in the table with 9 points, and in the final round of the autumn half of the championship they visit Mačva in Bogatić.
Our First League handball teams had successful outings. Sivac 69 hosted Apatin in Crvenka and won 30:26, although the visitors took the first half 14:11. Nothing was working for Sivac in the first half, but in the second their defence tightened up and, with two runs of 4:0 goals each, the Sivac players turned a three-goal deficit into a four-goal lead in the 50th minute and managed to hold on to it until the end, bidding farewell to their supporters with a win. Čabai, with twelve goals, and Beslać, with 6 goals, were Sivac’s top scorers. Sivac 69 finished the autumn half of the season in third place with 15 points.
Our other First League team, Laki from Crvenka, won in the final round of the autumn half of the championship, beating Temerin 29:25 away in Temerin, with a 16:13 halftime score. Although they played without captain Sandra Lovre, the young women from Crvenka showed their potential and deservedly won. Laki’s top scorers were Dragana Dimitrić with 8 and Milica Rabrenović with 7 goals. Laki finished the autumn half of the season in fifth place with 14 points.
In the 10 round of the First Serbian League championship, Hajduk’s basketball players lost 82:78 away to Sloven in Ruma, despite entering the final quarter with a three-point lead, which they had also held at halftime. However, they faltered in the final period and lost. Hajduk are sixth in the table with a record of six wins and four losses, and host Futog in the next round.
In the 10 round of the Second Serbian League championship, Sivac’s basketball players, playing at home in Crvenka, defeated Kadet from Novi Sad 104:86. The match was effectively decided in the first half, which Sivac won 61:46. Our other representative, Crvenka’s basketball team, lost 95:47 away to Sloboda in Novi Sad. The score speaks volumes about the balance of play. Sivac are third in the table with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses, while Crvenka are bottom after losing all ten games. In the next round, Crvenka host Petrograd from Zrenjanin, while Sivac travel to Velika Kikinda.
Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team ended the autumn half of the season in the First Vojvodina League, northern group, in disappointing fashion. The young women from Kula lost to Liber from Bačko Gradište 3:0 in front of their home fans, with set scores of 22:25, 16:25 and 20:25. Hajduk’s volleyball players finished the autumn half with one win, and the spring half of the season will begin on 20 February next year.
