The Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs announced that the days off will be from 29 April to 3 May, as Easter and Labour Day fall at the same time this year.
Under the Law on State and Other Holidays, the Easter holidays are observed in the Republic of Serbia from Good Friday through Easter Monday. In 2016, the Easter holidays are observed from 29 April (Friday) through 2 May (Monday). Labour Day is a public holiday observed on 1 and 2 May (this year, they fall on Sunday and Monday). “If one of the days on which a public holiday of the Republic of Serbia is observed falls on a Sunday, the next working day is also a non-working day. Since 1 and 2 May this year fall on Sunday and Monday, 3 May (Tuesday) is also a non-working day,” the Ministry’s statement concludes.
