In the penultimate round of the relegation playoff in Serbia's ARKUS Super League, Crvenka's handball players lost 42:32 away to Obilić in Belgrade, with the halftime score 23:12. Crvenka's handball players knew they had lost their chances of staying up after defeats at home to Crvena zvezda and Novi Pazar, so it seems they went to Belgrade merely to go through the motions. The score is the clearest confirmation of this: when a team concedes 42 goals, there can be no talk of any real play or desire to play. Miloš Nikolić was Crvenka's top scorer, with 9 goals. Crvenka are last in the ARKUS Super League relegation group with 8 points, and will travel to Aranđelovac to face Šamot in the final round.
In the 18 round of the Super B League, Sivac’s handball players lost at home to Jugović from Kać 29:27, with the half-time score 15:12 in favor of the Kać team. It seems that the visitors’ greater motivation proved decisive, as Jugović still believe they can earn promotion to the ARKUS Super League, while Sivac are safe in the standings but have no chance of a high finish. The teams traded goals until midway through the first half, after which, from the score of 8:8, the visitors went on a 4:0 run over seven minutes, taking a 12:8 lead and going into the break three goals ahead. In the second half, Jugović controlled the play and the score, at times leading by as many as eight goals, although the home side did manage to reduce the margin to a respectable level late in the game. Čabai was Sivac’s top scorer with 15 goals. Sivac 69 are fifth in the standings with 18 points, and next round they travel to Inđija.
In the 18 round of the First League championship for women’s handball, Laki lost 34:19 to Spartak in Debeljača. Given that Laki traveled for this away match with only eight players, it is clear that a better result could hardly have been expected. Anželi Lovre was Laki’s top scorer in the defeat to Spartak, with 6 goals. The young handball players from Crvenka are currently ninth in the standings with 6 points, and host Temerin in the next round.
When it comes to handball, the honor was saved by the women’s team Krule from Sivac, who defeated Obilić 20:14 away in Novi Kneževac in the 21 round of the Second League championship. Sivac’s handball players, who secured the championship title and promotion to a higher division long ago, confirmed their class in Novi Kneževac as well. Aleksandra Jelenković with 7 and Nikolina Bulatović with 6 goals were Krule’s top scorers. Krule leads the standings with 32 points and hosts Apatin in Sivac in the next round.
In a match in round 33 of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, Hajduk drew 2:2 away to hosts Radnički in Zrenjanin. Matijević and Vlaisavljević contributed to the valuable point with their goals. Hajduk are currently thirteenth in the table with 45 points, and will host Bečej in Kula in the next round.
In the 29 round of the Vojvodina League North group, Crvenka’s footballers lost 2:0 away to hosts Hercegovac in Gajdobra. Crvenka were reduced to ten men late in the first half when Končar was sent off, and Hercegovac took advantage of their numerical superiority to win. Crvenka are currently fifteenth in the table with 30 points, and next round they will host Bajša.
In the 28 round of the Sombor District League, Rusin drew 0:0 at home in Ruski Krstur against league leaders Stanišić. The Krstur side are fourth in the table with 43 points, and next round they visit Radnički in Ratkovo.
The twenty-second round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division was marked by a local derby played in Sivac, where Polet defeated Kula by 9:1. Romić scored four goals for Polet, Rašković scored two, while Miroslav and Mitar Varga, as well as Vojinović, scored one each. Kula’s consolation goal was scored by the experienced Vojnović. Lipar hosted Jedinstvo from Ribarevo, who arrived with only 7 players, and after about fifteen minutes, with Lipar leading 4:0, one of the Jedinstvo players complained of an injury, so the match was abandoned. Before the match was stopped, Lalić had scored twice for Lipar, with Nestorović and Basarić scoring once each. Mladost from Kruščić lost 11:0 away to champions Bratstvo in Prigrevica. Lipar are currently second in the table with 52 points, Polet are fifth, and Kula are sixth, both with 32, while Mladost are eleventh with 13 points. Next round brings another local derby: Mladost will host Lipar in Kruščić, Kula will host league leaders Bratstvo from Prigrevica at the Geder ground, and Sivac’s Polet will visit Aleksa Šantić.
