Numerous events will mark the upcoming sports weekend, with handball and football in the spotlight

The third round of the Handball Super B League, in which Sivac and Crvenka compete, is scheduled for the weekend. Sivac have made an excellent start to the season, earning three points from two away matches, and will host Kolubara from Lazarevac in their first home match of the season. Given that all Sivac players except pivot Klasan will be available to coach Branko Žeželj, and considering their performances in the previous two rounds, it is entirely understandable that Sivac are announcing a win. The Sivac–Kolubara handball match will be played tomorrow in the Sivac sports hall, kicking off at 19 hours.

Crvenka’s handball team will host Apatin in the third round of the Super B League. After an excellent performance and a win over Kolubara at home, Crvenka’s handball players lost in Belgrade in the second round, due to their own mistakes. Coach Miloš Mitrović’s team will be looking to make amends for that slip-up against Apatin. It will not be easy, however, as Apatin are a very experienced team who have recorded two wins in the first two rounds and will certainly come to Crvenka relaxed, aiming to show that their successes were no coincidence. The match between Crvenka and Apatin will be played at the Slobodan Čile Mišković Hall on Sunday, starting at 18.

In the 9 round of the Serbian League Vojvodina Group, Hajduk host Bečej in Kula. The Kula side are in a poor run of form: they have suffered four consecutive defeats and must end that run as soon as possible if they are to avoid the bottom of the table. But that will not be easy against Bečej, who are top of the league, and Hajduk will be depleted for this match too: both Manojlović players and Matijević have left, goalkeeper Drinčić is suspended, and Šušnjar is ill, leaving Hajduk coach Željko Račić struggling to put together a side capable of taking on Bečej. Still, “Hajduks” show their mettle when the going gets tough! The match between Hajduk and Bečej will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium, kicking off at 15.

In the ninth round of the Sombor District League championship, Crvenka, buoyed by an away win, host Vojvodina from Tovariševo, determined to seal that success with another victory. The match between Crvenka and Vojvodina from Tovariševo will be played tomorrow at the “Milorad Džomba” Stadium in Crvenka. Our other two representatives will take the field on Sunday. Rusin host league leaders Bratstvo from Prigrevica in Ruski Krstur in the round’s derby, while our third representative, Lipar, visit second-placed Radnički in Ratkovo. All these matches will begin at 15 hours.

The eighth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division will feature a major derby: league leaders Polet and second-placed OFK Odžaci will meet in Sivac. Sivac are counting on home advantage. Mladost will host Omadinac from Bukovac in Kruščić, while Kula travel to Bački Monoštor to face second-from-bottom Dunav. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 15.

Hajduk’s futsal team travel to Bajmok on Monday for the third round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, where they will play against Leteći Bajmočani at 20 hours and 45 minutes.

Hajduk’s basketball players travel to Bačka Topola for the second round of the First Republic League North Group, where they will face Topola in a local derby. Kula opened the season with a win, and Topola did the same away from home, so they will surely be aiming for a win on their own court as well. Hajduk coach Danilo Borović says that Topola have made some excellent signings, while Hajduk will be without experienced players Bajić and Rnić. However, that is no reason for his players not to travel to Bačka Topola, fight hard and give their best; the result will simply reflect their performance. Topola and Hajduk will meet in Bačka Topola tomorrow, with tip-off at 19.
