Preview of sporting events this weekend

The handball Super B League championship begins this weekend, featuring the teams from Crvenka and Sivac. In the first round, Crvenka will host familiar opponents Kolubara from Lazarevac. Matches between these two teams have always been close, but the Crvenka players hope to make use of home-court advantage and open the season with a win. One drawback is that backcourt player Žegarac is in quarantine; all the other players are available to coach Miloš Mitrović. The Crvenka–Kolubara match will be played tomorrow at the “Slobodan Čile Mišković” sports hall, starting at 18 hours.

Sivac 69 opens the league season away in Indjija, where they will face the team of the same name. The Sivac players worked well during the preparation period, but will travel to Indjija depleted. Centre-back Džabasan is out for a longer period due to injury, pivot Klason has a viral infection, experienced back Slavuljica will be absent due to work commitments, Milan Šajin is not fully fit, and back Jokić will also miss out through injury. However, Sivac coach Branko Žeželj says his team is going to Indjija without raising the white flag. The handball match between Indjija and Sivac will be played in Indjija on Sunday, starting at 18.

In the second round of the First League championship for women, both clubs from our municipality are playing at home. Lakí Handball Club will host Jadran from Feketić on Saturday at 20 hours, while newcomers to the First League, women’s handball club “Krule,” will host Ruma in Sivac on Sunday at 18 hours.

In round seven of the Vojvodina Group of the Serbian League, Hajduk host Bорац from Sakule. The Kula team have suffered two consecutive defeats and will certainly want to end that negative run. However, it will not be easy, as Borac are a strong side, as their fourth place in the table shows. Kula are also weakened: both goalkeepers received red cards in the previous match, so young Aleksandar Damjanović will defend against the team from Sakule. The match between Hajduk and Borac from Sakule will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In round seven of the Sombor District League, Rusin are the only one of our three teams playing at home. The team from Ruski Krstur will host ŽAK from Sombor. Rusin are on a winning streak, having secured three consecutive victories, and are playing at home, so naturally they will want to continue their successful run. Crvenka travel to second-placed Radnički in Ratkovo, while Lipar visit Borac in Obrovac. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

The sixth round of the Sombor Inter-Municipal League, First Grade, will feature a local derby in Sivac between Polet and Kula. Sivac suffered its first defeat last round, while Kula has recorded four wins after losing its opening match, suggesting they will be going for a win in Sivac too—all of which promises an exciting football match. Our third representative in this division, Mladost, will host Dinamo from Bački Breg in Kruščić. These matches are also scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In round three of the Vojvodina First League championship, Hajduk bowlers will visit Feketić, where they will play Novi Elan from Srbobran on Sunday at 10.

The “Jaffa All Stars Basketball Cup” will be held in Crvenka on Sunday, organized by the Jaffa All Stars Basketball Club. The cadet tournament will feature the Belgrade teams Partizan NIS and Mega SoccerBet, as well as the Bečej cadets and the host team Jaffa All-Stars from Crvenka. The younger pioneers’ competition will also include, alongside the host team “Jaffa All Stars,” the “Nika” Basketball Club team from Subotica. The games will begin on Sunday at 11 hours, and the final, after which medals and awards will be presented to the teams, will begin at 18 hours.

As part of preparations for the upcoming league season, Hajduk’s basketball players will travel to Gajdobra tomorrow, where they will play a friendly match against Hercegovac. The match will begin at 18.
