As summer approaches, there are fewer and fewer sporting events, but the sports venues will still be an interesting place to be.
The football season for clubs from our municipality is drawing to a close. In the penultimate 29. round of the Vojvodina group of the Serbian League, Hajduk will travel to face Feniks in Stara Pazova. The team from Kula is worried about its Serbian League status, and if it wants to retain it, it must defeat Feniks. This will be no easy task, as Feniks is second in the standings, playing on home turf, and is undoubtedly the favorite. The team from Kula is aware of the challenge, but believes its motivation is greater because it is fighting to stay in the league, while the home team has no chance of reaching the top spot. And that very motivation could prove decisive. The match between Feniks and Hajduk will be played in Stara Pazova tomorrow, kicking off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
In the 28. round of the Sombor District League championship, all three teams from our municipality will play away. Crvenka’s footballers, undoubtedly the most pleasant surprise of the spring half-season, will travel to Prigrevica tomorrow to face Bratstvo. The home team secured the championship title and promotion to a higher division long ago, while Crvenka has also secured its place in the league, so both teams will play without any pressure, promising an entertaining football match. Lipar’s footballers will also take the field tomorrow, facing ŽAK in Sombor. Our third representative, Rusin from Ruski Krstur, will travel to Gložan on Sunday to face Budućnost. These matches will also kick off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
In round 25 of the first division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, Mladost should have the easiest task: they will host bottom-placed Graničar from Riđica in Kruščić. Kula, who are still aiming for promotion, travel to second-from-bottom Dinamo in Bački Breg, while Sivac's Polet face the toughest task as they travel to league leaders Hajduk in Stapar. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
On Sunday, the Rusin Handball Club from Ruski Krstur will host its first International Mini Handball Tournament. Twelve teams will take part in the showcase for the youngest handball players. The tournament is international because two of the registered teams come from the Republic of Croatia—from Ilok and Slavonski Brod. Other participants in the mini handball tournament will be teams from Lazarevac, Bački Monoštor, Bački Brestovac, Odžaci and Kruščić; Sloven from Ruma; Crvenka's Laki club; the Rastimo Handball School from Novi Sad; and, of course, the hosts, members of the Rusin Handball Club. A mini handball team consists of four players and a goalkeeper, and a match lasts ten minutes. The first international mini handball tournament in Ruski Krstur will begin on Sunday at 10. Representatives of the Handball Federation of Serbia and the Handball Federation of Vojvodina have also announced that they will attend this gathering of the youngest handball players.
