Sports events preview

In recent days, we have talked a lot about the Sombor District League match played in Crvenka, in which Crvenka and Hajduk from Stapar drew 2:2 in a match that lasted 110 minutes and in which referee Miloš Dražić from Bačka Palanka showed three red cards to Crvenka players and awarded the visitors a penalty, before leaving the stadium’s officials’ offices in Crvenka in a police car after the match. All these events were reviewed by Sombor District League disciplinary judge Dragan Marjanac, who issued the following decisions: For poor organization of the match and a physical attack on the referee by a spectator, Football Club Crvenka is banned from playing two matches at home. In addition, for poor organization of the match, Football Club Crvenka is fined ten thousand dinars; for receiving three red cards, it is fined 3 thousand dinars; and for receiving five yellow cards, Crvenka is fined 2 and a half thousand dinars. Football Club Crvenka representative Miloš Puača is fined 5 thousand dinars. Sent-off players Nemanja Ivić and Dušan Zelić are banned for two matches, and Ljubomir Simić for one match.

That is all about what happened in recent days; next, we will talk about the events that will mark the upcoming sports weekend.

Tomorrow in Crvenka, Handball Club “Crvenka” will host the 23 annual “Slobodan Čile Mišković” Memorial Handball Tournament, which the club traditionally organizes in memory of Crvenka’s greatest handball player, Slobodan Mišković. In addition to the hosts, Crvenka, last year’s winners “Kikinda Grindex” from Kikinda, “Proleter” from Zrenjanin, and Vrbas will compete in the “Čile Memorial.” Before the matches begin, delegations from the participating clubs will lay flowers on the grave of the legendary Čile at the Crvenka cemetery. Then, at Crvenka’s handball temple, Kikinda Grindex and Vrbas will face off in the opening match, which will begin at 16 hours and 30 minutes. This will be followed by the tournament’s official opening ceremony, with handball legend Momir Rnić declaring it open. At 17 hours and 45 minutes, hosts Crvenka will meet Proleter. The teams that lose these matches will play for third place at 19 hours, while the semifinal winners will meet at 20 hours and 15 minutes to compete for first place and the trophy awarded to the winner of the “Čile” Memorial, donated by the Handball Association of Vojvodina. The organization of the 23 annual “Slobodan Čile Mišković” Memorial Handball Tournament was also supported by the Kula Municipality Sports Center, while the patron is the Municipality of Kula.

On Sunday, the women's handball club Krule will host the second Nenad Vučinić – Krule Memorial Tournament in Sivac, in memory of Nenad Vučinić, former goalkeeper for the Sivac Handball Club. In addition to the hosts, Krule, the tournament will also feature teams from Temerin, Apatin, and Odžaci. The semifinal matches will begin at 16 o'clock, with Krule playing Odžaci, followed by Temerin and Apatin. The losing teams will play for third place, and the winners for first place. The Municipality of Kula has helped the Krule Handball Club organize the Nenad Vučinić – Krule Memorial Tournament.

In round 5 of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk will travel to Pančevo to face Dinamo. Pančevo are bottom of the table with just one point, while “the Hajduks” are playing increasingly well, so it would come as no surprise if they return to Kula with a positive result. The match between Dinamo and Hajduk will be played in Pančevo tomorrow, kicking off at 16.

Matches in round 5 of the Sombor District League are scheduled for tomorrow and the day after. Two of our teams take to the field tomorrow: Crvenka travel to bottom-placed Tvrđava in Bač. Although they will be without three regular first-team players who were suspended after the previous match against Hajduk from Stapar, Crvenka are optimistic and are predicting a win in Bač. Rusin from Ruski Krstur travel to Sombor tomorrow to face ŽAK. Our third representative in the Sombor District League, table leaders Lipar, host Bорац from Bački Gračac at home on Sunday. Lipar are determined to continue their winning streak. All these scheduled matches kick off at 16.

The fifth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division will feature a municipal derby. Polet and Mladost from Kruščić will meet in Sivac. The Sivac team are favourites. Kula will host bottom-placed Telečka at the Geder ground. These matches are scheduled for Sunday and will begin at 16.
