Sports events preview

Football, handball and basketball will be in the spotlight for sports fans in the Municipality of Kula over the weekend, although other sporting events will also be interesting.

In the tenth round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, “Hajduk” host “Radnički” from Zrenjanin in Kula. The league table shows that the Zrenjanin side are in last place, and, especially as they are playing in front of their own fans, “Hajduk” are the favorites. But they must prove their worth on the pitch. Aware of the importance of the match, Željko Račić’s players say they will give their all to secure a win and strengthen their position in mid-table. The match between “Hajduk” and “Radnički” from Zrenjanin will kick off tomorrow at 15 at Milan Sredanović Stadium.

Lipar’s footballers will be first on the pitch in the tenth round of the Sombor District League. Tomorrow, Lipar will play away against Soko in Nova Gajdobra. Having lost at home in the previous round, Lipar see the trip to Nova Gajdobra as an opportunity to make amends. Rusin, currently second in the table, host Naša Zvezda from Silbaš in Ruski Krstur on Sunday. Buoyed by their win in Lipar in the previous round, Rusin’s footballers are confident they can follow it up with another victory at home. Third-placed Crvenka travel to face Budućnost in Gložan. Crvenka are in excellent form and say they expect to return satisfied from their trip to Gložan as well. All these matches kick off at 15.

Of the three representatives from our municipality in the Sombor Intermunicipal League, First Division, only “Kula” are at home in the tenth round of the championship. At their home ground in Geder, “Kula” will host “Zadrugar” from Srpski Miletić. Only a win will keep Kula's team in the race for the top spot. Second-placed “Polet” from Sivac travel to Kljajićevo to face bottom-placed “Telečka”, so it is understandable that the Sivac team are predicting another win. Our third representative, “Mladost” from Kruščić, travel to “Aleksa Šantić”. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will begin at 15 o'clock.

In the fourth round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, Hajduk travel to Novi Bečej to take on Tisa. The match is scheduled for Monday and will start at 19 hours and 30 minutes.

Our handball Super League teams “Crvenka” and “Sivac 69” will have the weekend off because of EHF week, but the women’s teams will be in action. In round 3 of the First League championship, Crvenka’s “Laki” host “Gradnulica” from Zrenjanin in front of their home fans. The match will be played at the Crvenka sports hall on Sunday, with kickoff at 17. Sivac’s women’s handball club “Krule” travel to Debeljača tomorrow, where they will face “Spartak” from 19.

In the third round of the Northern Group of the Republic League championship, Hajduk’s basketball team host Icometoplay from Novi Sad. Kula suffered an unexpected defeat in the previous round, so they will try to show their home fans that they have what it takes to finish at the top. The match between Hajduk and Novi Sad’s Icometoplay will be played tomorrow at the Petefi Brigade Primary School sports hall, starting at 19.

The volleyball championship begins this weekend.

In the first round of the East group of the First Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s men’s volleyball team visit Bačka Topola tomorrow, where they will play Topola at 12 hours and 30 minutes. Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team will visit Subotica on Sunday in the first round of the North group of the First Vojvodina League championship, where they will face Spartak 2 at 12 o’clock.

And finally, bowling.

In the 5 round of the Serbian First League championship, Vojvodina group, Hajduk's bowlers host “Vojvodina” from Bačko Gradište. This bowling match will be played on Sunday at the bowling alley in Vrbas and will begin at 16 o'clock.
