Preview of sporting events over the weekend

Another exciting sports weekend lies ahead, and we begin our preview of events with football.

In the 16 round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk host Jedinstvo from Stara Pazova. The visitors are higher in the table, currently eighth with 23 points, while Hajduk are fourteenth, and a win is essential for the Kula side if they are to catch up with the teams in mid-table and avoid a desperate fight to stay up. Hajduk know this and say they will give their all, make the most of home advantage and secure the desired win. The match between Hajduk and Jedinstvo from Stara Pazova will be played tomorrow at the “Milan Sredanović” Stadium, kicking off at 13.

In the 14 round of the North Group Vojvodina League championship, Crvenka’s footballers host Vojvodina from Tovariševo. Crvenka suffered a heavy defeat in Bajša last round, and with the league’s bottom-placed team coming to visit, this is an opportunity for Milan Vujaković’s squad to make amends for the debacle in Bajša with a win. The match between Crvenka and Vojvodina from Tovariševo will be played tomorrow at “Milorad Džomba” Stadium, kicking off at 13.

In round 15 of the Sombor District League championship, Rusin from Ruski Krstur will visit Budućnost in Mladenovo. It will be the match of the round, as Budućnost is third and Rusin fourth, with only one point between them, so any result is possible. Mladenovo have a slight advantage because they are playing at home. The match between Budućnost and Rusin in Mladenovo will be played on Sunday and will start at 13.

Of the four teams from Kula municipality competing in the first division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, only Lipar will play at home in the 12 round of the championship. Lipar will host Aleksa Šantić and have announced that they are aiming for their eleventh win. Kula travel to face Terekveš in Svilojevo, while Mladost from Kruščić are guests of Omladinac in Deronje. Our fourth representative, Polet from Sivac, have a bye this round. The scheduled matches will be played on Sunday, starting at 13.

In the 8 round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, Hajduk’s futsal team will host the Flying Bajmok team from Bajmok in Kula. The Kula team are on a three-match unbeaten run, will be playing on home ground and have announced that they intend to continue their successful streak. The match between Hajduk and Flying Bajmok will be played at the Petefi Brigade Elementary School hall in Kula on Sunday, starting at 21.

There will be no Arkus Super League of Serbia matches this weekend, so Crvenka’s handball players will rest. However, Sivac’s handball players will be in action, travelling to Velika Plana in the 5 round of the Super B League championship to face Morava. Sivac suffered an unexpected defeat in the previous round, losing at home to Smederevo, so the match against last-place Morava offers a chance to make amends. The match between Morava and Sivac will be played in Velika Plana tomorrow, starting at 19.

In the 4 round of the Women’s First League championship, the young team Laki from Crvenka travel to Ruma. The Ruma–Laki match will be played in Ruma on Sunday, starting at 18.

In the sixth round of the First Serbian League, Hajduk’s basketball players face I Came to Play in Novi Sad on Sunday at 19. In the sixth round of the Second Serbian League, Sivac’s basketball players host Akademik from Srbobran in Sivac on Sunday at 15. Hajduk’s volleyball team host Mladost from Turija in the fourth round of the First Vojvodina League. The volleyball match will be played tomorrow at the Petefi brigada Elementary School sports hall in Kula, starting at 15 hours and 30 minutes.
