At the “Potok” picnic area in Crvenka, a playground called “Potokić” was opened for the youngest residents of Crvenka. The children were entertained by a magician and Vule the bear, and ice cream was provided as a treat for all the children. The playground has a range of equipment suitable for children aged three to twelve and was built by employees of the “Vodovod” public utility company from Crvenka. The director of the company, Miljan Drašković, said that “Potok” holds a special place in the hearts of all Crvenka residents and that, accordingly, the idea arose to build a playground like this for the youngest members of the community at this very location:
“The picnic area is a place dear to all the people of Crvenka, as well as to people from other places who come here. We had the idea that it would be nice to build a playground for the little ones. We never imagined that so many children would turn up, and I’m happy the weather allowed us to put on such a lovely event. It’s a traditional-style playground, nothing modern, but it was built with love; it’s sturdy and stable, and we hope it will bring lots of joy to the children. The playground has seesaws, swings, a sandbox, a slide, and a little bridge, and I’m glad to see that the first impressions couldn’t be better. We’ll continue to look after Potok. This will be one of our ongoing projects and, with the support of the Municipality of Kula, every year we’ll try to organize at least one event like this for the youngest children.”
Damjan Miljanić, President of the Municipality of Kula, also took the opportunity to visit the playground and see the impressions of those present firsthand. He pointed out that a total of 15 new playgrounds were built this year and last year, and that the local government will continue this work. In addition to the “Potok” picnic area, Miljanić also highlighted the picnic area at Mali Stapar and the bathing area in Ruski Krstur, where, alongside the wide range of amenities, there is also a warm and mutually supportive partnership with the citizens’ associations that carry out their activities at these locations:
“Altogether, 15 new playgrounds have been built in the Municipality of Kula this year and last year. That is, perhaps, more new playgrounds than have been built in the past twenty years. We will continue this trend, and recreation areas in particular are important to us, as are places where we are striving to create a natural setting with as many facilities as possible for all residents. What is especially important is that, besides ‘Potok,’ we also have the recreation area at Mali Stapar and the bathing area in Ruski Krstur. Not only do these offer facilities that residents can use, but they are also supported by wonderful associations and people. In Sivac, this is the ‘Strand’ association, whose main activities are protecting the environment and organizing regattas and tree-planting events. On the other hand, I must also mention the ‘Radnik’ public utility company and the Sivac Local Community, which provide unstinting support to the ‘Strand’ association. This is a guarantee of sorts that everything invested will not only be preserved but improved. Here in Crvenka, the main drivers of this initiative are the residents, the Local Community, the ‘Vodovod’ public utility company, and, of course, the ‘Target’ archery club, which has premises here and holds its training sessions at ‘Potok.’ I must also mention the ‘Crvenka 2022’ anglers’ association, which is doing great work both on the canal and, of course, here, where it is involved in tree planting and other activities.”
A large number of residents from Crvenka and the surrounding area visited the newly opened “Potocic” playground. Among them was Nenad Milosevic, a member of the local assembly, who said that Crvenka has many children and that they deserved a place like this to play and have fun. Milosevic also stressed that, as someone who lives in Crvenka, his heart is full when he sees so many children at “Potok,” and that this is one of the signs that Crvenka is very much alive:
“I have to admit, my heart is full when I see how many people came with their children and how happy the children are. This is a wonderful event, as is the location itself, and most of the credit goes to Mr. Draskovic and the ‘Vodovod’ public utility company. The Municipality of Kula also did a great deal of work, and it is always responsive to the needs of the residents of Crvenka. There are many children in our town, and every new facility for them, as well as their positive response, is the best evidence that Crvenka is alive.”
