Following the call for proposals “Hello Internet!” by the Open Society Foundation, an informal youth group Ecological Discipline has carried out the “Like for an Endangered Species” project.
The project aims to educate primary school pupils about endangered plant and animal species that require special attention in order to preserve them for future generations.
During an educational session, children from primary schools in the Municipality of Kula (Sivac, Crvenka and Kula) will learn about rare and endemic species. They will then have the opportunity to paint an endangered plant or animal of interest to them at an art workshop. Through the social network, all Facebook users will be able to view the candidates’ drawings and take part in choosing the winner. After voting ends, the pupil with the most likes in each town, as well as the best artist, will receive a prize—a fully equipped schoolbag.
We hereby invite all Internet users to visit the page by 6 September http://www.stvarnovazno.org/Zdravo-Internet/914/Like-za-ugrozenu-vrstu.shtml and vote for the “Like for an Endangered Species” project so that together we can promote a healthy lifestyle online and learn about endangered plant and animal species in Vojvodina and around the world.
