Although the coronavirus pandemic has also affected the sporting events ahead, an exciting sports weekend is in store.
Hajduk’s basketball players will open the program this evening when they visit Jedinstvo in Novi Bečej in round 18 of the First Serbian League. The home team needs the points in its fight to stay in the league, while the players from Kula have no worries and can play without pressure—and that kind of play often produces a good result. The match between Jedinstvo and Hajduk will begin in Novi Bečej at 19 this evening. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will be played without spectators.
Spectators will not be able to attend handball matches in the Super League either.
In the 14th round of the Super B Handball League championship, Crvenka host Mačva from Bogatić. The visitors are top of the table, while Crvenka, greatly encouraged by their win over Sivac in the previous round, say they will build on that success and win despite having no support from the stands. The match between Crvenka and Mačva from Bogatić will be played tomorrow at the Slobodan Čile Mišković Sports Hall, starting at 19.
Our other Super League team, Sivac 69, travels to Belgrade to face Voždovac in round 14 of the championship. The hosts are fighting desperately to avoid relegation, so the match against them will show whether Sivac’s handball players, who are certainly the stronger side, have recovered from their home defeat. The match between Voždovac and Sivac will be played in Belgrade tomorrow, starting at 21.
Unlike indoor sporting events, which spectators will not be able to attend, spectators will be allowed to attend outdoor sporting events, such as football matches.
In round 17 of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk’s footballers travel to Subotica to face Bačka. Judging by the teams’ positions in the standings, Bačka are favorites, as they are in second place, while Kula are second from bottom and face a battle to remain in the Serbian League. The match between Bačka and Hajduk will be played in Subotica tomorrow, kicking off at 14 hours and 30 minutes.
