Public Call for grants to purchase a rural house with a yard in the territory of the Republic of Serbia

The Ministry for Rural Affairs has announced a competition for grants to purchase village houses with surrounding land. 500 million dinars have been set aside for this purpose in the national budget.

The aim of this assistance is to reduce migration from rural areas by addressing housing needs, motivate rural residents to stay in the countryside, and encourage young people to return to rural areas.

It was specified that funds received under this program cannot be used to equip rural houses or their grounds, nor to pay the property transfer tax when purchasing a rural house with grounds, property tax, costs of collecting documents for applying to the public call, or construction work to renovate a rural house.

A maximum of 1,2 million dinars can be obtained through this program, and the total value of a village house with its surrounding land may not exceed this amount.

Applicants under 45 years of age are eligible to apply, provided they do not own or co-own real estate in Serbia, apart from agricultural land. They must also be unrelated by blood to the seller of the property and must not be awaiting approval of funding to purchase real estate.

The application period runs from the date the public call is published until the budget funds allocated for this purpose are used up, and no later than 1 November this year.

The funds will be awarded in the order applications are submitted, and no later than 1 November.
