The school in Nova Crvenka … one of 93 Vojvodina’s schools with fewer than eight pupils … and the village, also one of many in Vojvodina from which many people want to escape to the city … and yet …. our little school holds many advantages and delights compared with schools with large numbers of pupils.
With a little determination and effort, these pupils and their teacher hold many classes outside the classroom.
For example, these days they held a double period of physical education—not just anywhere, but at the indoor swimming pool in Sombor. It is an understatement to say that the day was exciting for them—it was unforgettable! They learn about their surroundings, the landscape, neighboring places and institutions on site, and knowledge acquired this way is easier and quicker to absorb and, most importantly, remembered for a long time.
The excursion to Novi Sad was also a special experience for students from Nova Crvenka. The students were hugely excited to learn about the city’s landmarks right there, in the city itself. The inevitable pizza at “Karibik” tasted even better because these hardworking children had earned it themselves by selling crafts they had made for the Children’s Fair.
We are now eagerly looking forward to visiting Zobnatica and Subotica, which we are planning, and of course we will report back to you about it.
Warm greetings from Nova Crvenka!
