Football roundup: Crvenka on the brink of the District League

Crvenka defeated Budućnost 1:0 in Parage in the first match of the playoff for promotion to the Sombor District League. The decisive goal was scored by the experienced Predrag Kišjuhas. Crvenka have thus secured a good advantage ahead of the return match, which will be played in Crvenka on Saturday, 10 June. Given that Milan Vujaković's team won away from home and will have home advantage in the return match, Crvenka are expected to secure promotion to the Sombor District League.

And just yesterday, the final round of the championship in the Sombor District League was played. In the municipal derby in Kula, Hajduk Junior defeated Rusin from Ruski Krstur 4:1, with the halftime score 0:0. Drpljanin, Vujmilović, Branko Janjić, and Danojević from the penalty spot scored for Hajduk Junior, while Pavlović scored Rusin’s consolation goal, also from the penalty spot.

Lipar defeated Slavija from Pivnice 4:1 at home, while Polet drew 1:1 with Borac from Bački Gračac in Sivac, significantly helping Mladost from Kruščić retain their place in the District League. The Kruščić team took advantage of that help: they hosted ŽAK from Sombor, who began the match with 8 players. With Mladost leading 4:0, a ŽAK player was injured in the 35th minute, and since the visitors had no substitutes, the match had to be abandoned. Mladost thus picked up three points, while Borac were “robbed” of two points by the draw in Sivac, allowing the Kruščić team to overtake them in the table and remain in the District League. Hajduk Junior finished the season fourth in the table with 45 points, Rusin were sixth with 41, Lipar eleventh with 38, Mladost fourteenth with 33, while Sivac’s Polet, unfortunately, finished last with 17 points and will compete in the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division next season.
