Crvenka’s footballers, members of the Vojvodina League North group, began preparations for the upcoming season a week ago. Head coach Živko Jovanović and his assistant Goran Poletanović called the players together, and what marked the first 4-5 days of training was the poor turnout, with only six or seven players attending. According to coach Jovanović, the situation has now returned to normal: 17-18 players are attending training, and they can work as usual. As for the training plan, Crvenka’s players will complete all their preparations in their hometown, and a larger number of matches are planned, depending also on the epidemiological situation, because health comes first. Regarding the squad, coaches Jovanović and Poletanović have most of the players who represented Crvenka last season at their disposal. The status of Šakić, Bošković and Babić is uncertain, as other clubs are interested in them. Crvenka have strengthened their squad with experienced player Dušan Zelić, who represented SuperLiga side Hajduk from Kula, later played for Novi Sad’s Proleter, and spent part of his career abroad. Crvenka believe Zelić’s playing experience will be valuable. The club plans to bring in 2-3 more reinforcements, but they will be young players, as the club management and coaching staff plan to build a stable team of young players during the preparatory period. Alongside staying in the league, the main goal for the coming season is to promote young players who came through Crvenka’s football academy.
