It seems the difficulties faced by sports clubs in the Kula municipality over maintaining the sports facilities they use for their activities have finally come to an end. Namely, by a decision adopted by council members at a local assembly session held on Tuesday, the “Crvenka” Sports Center became the Sports Center of the Municipality of Kula. This sports institution has been entrusted with managing, using and maintaining sports facilities and fields owned publicly by the local government and located within the Kula municipality. The decision covers the “Milan Sredanović” stadium and its ancillary facilities, as well as the stadium at Geder in Kula; the “Slobodan Čile Mišković” sports hall in Crvenka; the “Milorad Džomba” stadium and its ancillary facilities, along with the auxiliary stadium in Crvenka; the stadium and its ancillary facilities and the sports hall in Sivac; and the stadiums in Kruščić and Ruski Krstur and their ancillary facilities. Several sports facilities in the Kula municipality are not covered by this decision, including the sports hall in Ruski Krstur and the football stadium in Lipar. At the Municipal Assembly session, it was stated that these sports facilities are not publicly owned by the local government. Specifically, the stadium in Lipar is owned by the “Lipar” Sports Association, an association of citizens; therefore, until these facilities are transferred to the ownership of the local government, there is no legal basis for including them in the newly established Sports Center of the Municipality of Kula.
The newly established institution will continue operating as the Crvenka Sports Centre until this decision takes effect, on the eighth day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Municipality of Kula, and will be applied from 1 January 2021. The adopted Decision stipulates that the institution’s Management Board must announce a public competition to appoint the institution’s director within 60 days of the institution’s Statute taking effect. We should also note that the funds required to implement this decision will be provided in the budget of the municipality of Kula for 2021.
