Residents of Nova Crvenka and their guests will celebrate the Day of the village on Thursday, 15 September. On Thursday, from 11 hours and 30 minutes, guests and hosts will gather in front of the monument in the village center, so that at 12 hours they can lay wreaths at the Monument to the Salonika Volunteers and thus pay tribute to participants in the wars of liberation from 1912 to 1918. Following the welcome speeches, a cultural and artistic program will be held on the stage in the village center from 12:45 hours, followed by lunch for all guests at the renovated Pensioners’ Club. The Nova Crvenka Day celebrations will conclude with a concert for young people, starting at 19 hours.
As a reminder, Serbia and Republika Srpska celebrate a joint holiday on the same day—Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day. This date, 15 September, was chosen because the Salonika Front was broken through on that day in 1918. On this occasion, the National and State Flags of the Republic of Serbia will be prominently displayed in public places and on public authority buildings in all municipalities in Serbia and Republika Srpska. The holiday, symbolizing the unity of the Serbian people, will be jointly celebrated in Serbia and Republika Srpska, as well as in Serbian communities around the world.
