“Crvenka” and “Laki” in the playoffs

It is known that the Handball Federation of Serbia Board decided to expand the leagues, with the expansion to be carried out through playoff matches involving teams that apply to take part. The Super A League will be expanded by two new members, and Crvenka’s handball players, who have applied to take part in the playoff, will have the chance to qualify for Serbia’s elite handball league.

The Competition Commission of the Handball Association of Serbia yesterday established the list of teams that submitted applications by the deadline to fill vacant places in the leagues, in accordance with the decision of the Board. Two teams from our municipality are among the applicants: Crvenka Handball Club, which applied for the playoff to fill a place in the Super A League, and “Laki” Handball Club, which applied for the playoff to fill a place in the First Women’s League. In addition to Crvenka, the teams that applied for the playoff for promotion to the Super A League are Jugović from Kać, Morava from Velika Plana, Radnički from Kragujevac and Hajduk Veljko from Negotin; two of these five teams will earn a place in the Super A League. In addition to “Laki” Handball Club, Ruma and Ravangrad from Sombor have applied for the playoff matches to fill places in the First League, and two of these three teams will earn First League status.

Teams that have registered have until 3 June to pay the deposit for participation in the playoffs: the deposit is 400 thousand dinars for the Super League and 50 thousand dinars for the First League. A meeting of the Competition Committee of the Handball Federation of Serbia will be held on June 4, at which a final decision will be made on how the playoff matches will be played in each league. Meetings with the clubs taking part in the playoffs will be held on 5 June to review the objective circumstances and agree on match dates, after which the date of the playoff matches will also be announced.
