Yesterday, in the 4 midweek round of the North group of the Vojvodina League championship, Crvenka’s footballers hosted Tavankut at home. The match ended in a 0:0 draw, and young Crvenka goalkeeper Dušan Jokić deserves the most credit for the hosts earning a point, as he was unbeatable. Crvenka played listlessly and without ideas against Tavankut, as evidenced by the fact that they did not have a single serious shot on goal. Their opponents have more reason to be dissatisfied with the point, since their forwards squandered several excellent scoring chances.
Tavankut’s best chance came in the 73 minute, when Tumbas broke through alone against Jokić, but the home goalkeeper saved his shot and parried the ball away. Tumbas tried again, but Jokić was once more an insurmountable obstacle, preserving a point for his team. After four matches, Crvenka’s footballers are eleventh in the standings with 5 points, and in the fifth round they visit Mladost APA in Apatin.
